Who we are.....

Jackson County Republican Women was founded in 1945, as an arm of the National Federation of Republican Women and the Oregon State Federation.
Republican Women Clubs began to emerge in the later part of the 19th century.   However the actual formation of the National Association of Republican Women was in 1938.  At the time of the National Federation's formation, 3 states had not yet ratified the 19th amendment to the constitution granting suffrage to women.
The Oregon Federation of Republican Women was founded in 1940. The NFRW has 100,000 members strong with local units in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.  The NFRW is one of the largest women's political organizations in the Country.  A woman becomes a member by joining her local unit.
Our goals are to educate and provide a positive impact in the political arena; not only in our County but in our State and our Nation.
We not only support the ideals and the policies of the Republican Party on both the State and the National level but work to elect Republican Candidates to office.
In support of the party, we use its resources to:
  • Elect Republican candidates to public office
  • Train campaign leaders and volunteers recruit and train women for public office and other leadership roles
  • Educate members on legislative issues
  • Promote the principles and polices of the Republican Party
In working toward these goals, we concentrate our efforts in the areas of educating, communicating, recruiting, campaigning, fundraising and legislative action.

"If the people fail to vote, a government will be developed
which is not their government. The whole system of
American Government rests on the ballot box. Unless
citizens perform their duties there, such a system of
government is doomed to failure."
Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the USA.
